What happens on a call
When a caller orders, each item is matched against your imported menu with its price, extras and sold-out status. Anything not on the menu is taken as a special request for you to confirm. The order is read back with a total when every item has a price, then lands on your Orders page.
Setting it up
- 1In your Clover web dashboard, copy your Merchant ID from the address bar.
- 2Create an API token with inventory-read and orders-write permission (Account & Setup → API Tokens, or via your Clover reseller).
- 3Paste both into Apps & Connections → Clover with region “europe” for the UK, press Connect & test, choose the order type for phone orders, then Import menu.
Built to the vendor’s published API. Connect & test checks it works with your own account before any caller relies on it.
Good to know
- Extras are sent to the till as a note on each line (“+ olives, no onions”) rather than as linked modifiers.
If something goes wrong
A connection never breaks a call. If Clover can’t be reached, the receptionist falls back — to its own diary for times, to fresh times or a flag for your team if a booking is refused, and to a note on the order if sending fails. Keys you give us are encrypted and never shown back.
